Did you know, I always wanted to learn guitar, and some weeks ago I decided to get one and learn on my -very few- free hours. Of course I managed to download a couple of interesting programs about reading/composing tabs and chords, as well as some basic learning programs.
One of those is this one, the "Guitar Scales Method", a very small but promising program that will teach you the guitar basics in order to get more and more deeply into this fantastic practice.
The program interface is very simple and straightforward, the main window is divided horizontally in two: you have a guitar's fretboard on top, and the 'e-book' on the bottom.
From within this panel you can access a lot of lessons divided in 16 chapters (plus an appendix) where you will learn the key concepts of guitar playing: chords, progressions, scales, improvisation and much more.
This trial edition is absolutely free, however there are many locked features that look very promising, like the Progress Map, the Pattern Trainer, the Play-Along Trainer and more. Anyway, it's still worth to download the program, read the lessons and practice with your guitar. If you buy a license you will get the commercial version (with no limitations) as a new download.
By the way, don't miss the "Hard Concrete Principle" introduced on the course. You will find it very illustrative and useful.
